Enrollment

Consider your goals and talk with your advisor about how Summer Session at Illinois State can help you stay on track for graduation!

Plan on Summer at Illinois State

There are a variety of reasons to take summer courses at ISU.

Saving Money

Since fall 2004, Illinois State University has frozen new students' undergraduate tuition at the same semester rate for up to four years of continuous enrollment (more for majors requiring additional coursework). After that time, a student's tuition will be subject to change, which can cost you a lot of money.

Progress towards a Major

Illinois State wants to help students make progress towards graduation. Admission to a major is a crucial step. After the completion of 75 credit hours, students must have declared a major or, at least, filled out and submitted an appeal form. Picking up a summer class or two may help students' progress toward acceptance into a major or meeting continuation requirements once in a major.

Study Abroad

Take a vacation and still earn college credit!

Now is the time to plan for a study abroad experience. In addition to developing new friends and having a great time, you can enhance your world-view, gain self-confidence, and, you never know, you might just find a new career path!

Minor or Concentration Completion

Expand your knowledge! We know that you have interests beyond your major; summer is the perfect time to take a few courses in an area that interests you and that can expand your career opportunities.

Many times with just a few more courses, you can complete a minor. Set yourself apart from other students graduating in your field; talk with your instructors or academic advisor about how a few additional courses, an independent study, or an internship can benefit you!

*Students on Academic Probation are not eligible to register for May Interim Session courses.
